About Greenshire

When choosing the name for my company I thought about how my family comes from England and a "shire" is a historical term for an administrative region, I liked this in reference to a home and community. The Shire is also a breed of horse originating in England, which is a large, strong, draught horse that was used for farm work and to tow barges when the canal system was England's main goods transport system. I've always loved horses, especially Clydesdales here in America, so when I read about the Shire horse, I thought it was perfect to integrate into the shield, representing protection, for my logo.

I grew up in Utah, I went to college at BYU and got my degree in Biotechnology and a minor in Business. My wife and I married in 2007 and moved to the Bay area where we had our first daughter. We lived there for 5 years while I worked for a medical tech company called Styker, before the company moved us to the Denver, Colorado area. We have been in Castle Rock, Colorado since 2013 and had 3 more daughters, so I'm proud to say I'm a hard core girl dad! I have always had the desire to be an entrepreneur so in 2023 I took the "big leap" and left the corporate world for self employment. My wife and I worked on several business projects together, and then in 2025 I found myself interested in this world of insurance. I was intrigued by it's long stable history- even new companies are old! I truly love the idea helping protect families and helping people find solutions to protect their futures the things that are most important to them!
